Tulalip Cares celebration includes SPiN

Spin Cafe is grateful for grant funding from the Tulalip Tribes, through their Tulalip Cares Charitable Fund.

Tulalip Cares invites the groups they support to be honored at the Raising Hands celebration at the Tulalip Tribes Casino Center. It is tribal tradition to raise hands to applaud and give thanks to those who have given to the community. Since 1993, Tulalip Cares has donated $69.5 million to more than 400 charitable organizations.

This year, SPiN board members Bob and Carol Wall attended on behalf of SPIN. It gave Bob and Carol the opportunity to learn more about the Tulalip people, and to visit with other grant recipients who reach out to help others in this part of Washington.

At this event, Tulalip Cares highlights the many organizations they support with video presentations and stories.  In addition we were treated to music by a Tulalip Native American Family of singers and musicians, and a gift of an art piece designed and made by one of the tribal members.

We also heard how many of the PNW tribes work together on projects including an extensive one to save salmon and the environment.

Add to that a lovely several course meal…a special night.

Many thanks to the Tulalip Tribes and Tulalip Cares for supporting our mission of Serving People in Need.

Ready for the Tulalip Cares Raising Hands celebration.
