![]() Dear SPIN Cafe community, This is a special time for SPIN in our ongoing mission. We continue to serve all people in need, and we hear regular success stories from current and former patrons — new jobs, college diplomas, secure housing, improved health, and inspiring ideas from guests who want to give back. That doesn’t include the dozens, maybe even hundreds, of untold stories from those who passed through our doors, got back on their feet, and went on with their lives. Thanks to overwhelming support from the community, we continue to receive funding; we continue to pay our bills; and we continue to progress in the development of our new facility and our plans to occupy that space by the end of the year. We have faced our share of challenges, mostly in the form of fear and rejection from some segments of the community. We will do our best to proactively address their concerns and work with them to find solutions. But we will never back off from our mission, Serving People In Need. As I stated in a Whidbey News Times column last weekend, it is inconceivable to me that our community could tell people they are unworthy of love and belonging. You can read that column here. As always, thank you for your support, without which SPIN could never do the vital work we do. Vivian Rogers Decker
